Top 5 Cruelty Free Foundations

It's time for another Top 5 post! See my Top 5 Eyeshadow palettes here.

Let's talk base. I am not the biggest foundation geek when it comes to makeup, but I have tried enough to be able to share my faves with you. All the products mentioned in this blog post are cruelty free and I've given all of them at least a month of use to give a full on and honest review.

Collection Lasting Perfection £4.99
The best cheaper foundation I have ever tried. It's pretty much full coverage, but doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. And that's when you know, that the formula is working! It has a matte finish and applies really easily. I would say a damp beauty sponge would probably be the best tool to use with Lasting Perfection foundation so you get the most natural yet full looking finish. I am also impressed that this didn't break me out as so many cheaper spectrum foundations have done in the past.

Nars Sheer Glow £32

Edit: At the time of writing this post, Nars were cruelty free. Since then they have announced that they will start to trade in China making Nars not cruelty free.

I wanted to try Nars and see what the hype is about. I totally get it now. Sheer Glow is literally what it says - Sheer Glow. It feels so soft on the skin, it has a slight luminous finish and I don't need to set it with a powder and my dry skin likes it. Once again, this is more of a medium to full coverage foundation, but it feels like air on the skin. I'm not sure how it would be on oily skin, but you'll never know if you don't try!

Bare Minerals original £26.50
This is my holy grail foundation. I will always repurchase it as it gives the most beautiful natural look to the skin. It's basically my skin but better sort of finish. I like the fact that it's a healing powder and also it's super buildable. I can wear it during the day and also put another layer in the evening for more of a flawless look.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue £27
I love skincare and anything that makes my dry skin not so flaky. Complexion Rescue is the perfect every day product for that. It's very hydrating and feels just like a tinted moisturiser. I like to use it on its own on a lazy day or build up coverage by wearing it underneath the Original. Another great plus for this product is the high SPF of 30. It makes Complexion Rescue the perfect sunscreen for face when you go on holiday.

Tarte Amazonian Clay £30
You've all seen me rave about my Tarte Maneater set on YouTube (if not, click here to see the first impressions video), so this shouldn't be a surprise. I had high hopes for this one after all the hype I've seen and it totally did everything I expected. It's smooth, great coverage without feeling caked up and makes my skin look incredible. I got  loads of compliments on my complexion when I wore it out the other day. It is a pain to get Tarte products in the UK, but be sure to check QVC as they do amazing deals from time to time.
